DJI Mini Pro 3

dji_mini_pro

DJI Mini Pro 3, released on 10th May 2022, addresses the shortcomings of its ancestors and is equally suitable for both professionals and enthusiasts.

DESIGN:

The Mini 3 Pro features a folding design and is very lightweight, weighing just 249g. With the new obstacle avoidance feature, the DJI Mini Pro 3, your flights are now very secure and easy.

The propeller arms have been made more dynamic as compared to the Mini 2. Larger propellers mean increased flight times. The drone now looks more like a Mavic Mini 2 than the DJI Mini 2. This is due to the addition of the obstacle sensor plus the dual mount gimbal.

FUNCTIONALITIES

The DJI Mini 3 Pro has been updated with an Advanced Pilot Assistance System 4.0 (APAS). Thanks to the tri-directional obstacle avoidance wide-angle sensor, the APAS now allows you to set obstacle avoidance i.e., it either brakes or flies around the obstacle.

Some additional features such as Quickshots and Subject Tracking are also added. Quickshots are a suite of automated flight patterns that allows you to take the best shot possible, while Subject Tracking, as the name indicates, lets you track a static or moving subject autonomously.

DJI Mini 3 Pro offers a standard 2453mAh Li-ion Intelligent Flight Battery that runs for 34 minutes. But there is another Intelligent Flight Battery Plus (3850 mAh Li-ion) that runs up to 47 minutes. An AC Main 30W USB-C hub comes with the drone.

PERFORMANCE

The drone contains a new 21.1MP 1/1.3 inch sensor that shoots 48MP stills in both RAW and JPEG. The camera has a 24mm lens with an f1.7 fixed aperture and can be rotated at 90°.

The image quality is excellent, although there is a sudden reduction in sharpness around the edges. The ISO handling is impressive as there is no color loss even at a high ISO of 6400.

If we talk about videos, you can take 4k and 2.7k at 24/25/30/48/50/60fps and FHD at all these, plus an additional 120fps. The bitrate for videos is 150Mbps, so a little compression is applied. However, you will need ND filters during the daytime due to the wide f1.7 aperture.

Normal and D-cine-like color profiles are available too.

PRICE OFFERS

The DJI Mini 3 Pro comes with three price offers:

● 669$ for just the drone and no controller

● 759$ for the drone with a DJI RC N-1 controller

● 909$ for the drone itself plus a Smart DJI controller.

The kits include a battery, two sets of propellers, a screwdriver, a gimbal guard, and a Type-C to Type-C cable.

SUMMARY

The DJI Mini 3 Pro is a lightweight drone with all the new technologies added, including collision sensors, Quickshots, subject tracking, and a much-improved camera that gives a High-quality 48MP image and 4k/HDR video shots.
