The MacBook Air, with an all-new M2 silicon chip and a redesigned body, was announced and previewed in early June.
WHY IS M2 BETTER? The M2 is 18% faster than the M1 at much less energy cost. The M2 chip ups the RAM allotment with up to 24GBs. As MacBook Air is supposed to be Fan-less, the processing will be slower than MacBook Pro as it has to slow down the processor to avoid heating up.
DESIGN Apple has brought dramatic changes to the design of the M2 MacBook. The tapered look that made it look thinner is gone. Instead, a uniform appearance has been introduced. The general impression is similar to the MacBook Pro. Also, the bezels around the display are thinner. Rumour is the New M2 MacBook Air would be about 13 inches plus a larger 15inches model with a few other changes, including the color variation. As for now, only four colors have been announced.
DISPLAY The M2 MacBook 13.6 display uses Apple's new Liquid Retina Technology, which improves colors and contrast. The most notable difference is the rounded corners rather than squares. Mini LEDs instead of LED Backlights could be introduced in the MacBook. There is also a screen notch for the camera, introduced initially in the MacBook Pro.
OTHER SPECS A much better webcam is present in the notch above as Apple added a new 1080p Webcam. The model will offer two ThunderBolt/USB 4.0 Ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple also added a MagSafe Port for charging. The base model comes with 30W USB C Power Adapter, but the larger model has a 35W Dual USB C Port Compact Power Adapter. You can also fast-charge it using the USB C Power Adapter.
